Queen of Kohl
Mosha Katani discovered her calling for makeup artistry at a young age. She loved playing in her mom's makeup and her sister was a fashionista. The whole family liked getting glammed up for occasions.
Mosha was initially introduced to sormeh, a sooty black powder by her mother when she was just 12 years old. Her mom let her know tht sormeh is even used by men in Iran and holy women. Its a long tradition and its meant to soothe the eyes from dust and the sun's ray. Mosha fell in love with the spark sormeh created in her eyes. Much like Omar Sharif's deep dark eyes or Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra.
Mosha's infatuation with Hollywood royalty and strong women in history helped her create her childhood eyeliner in 6 colors right here in California. She even named each color with special attention to Cleopatra and the Pharaohs.
Katani has combined her application skills with her mother’s beauty secrets to create Sormeh, a line of natural, kohl-based eyeliners. And celebs like Angelina Jolie and Naomi Campbell are among Sormeh’s fans.
